Born and raised in Kalihi, and now living in Honolulu, where she represents the 14th District in the State Senate, Kim vows to protect Hawaii’s interests in Washington.

Honolulu, HI – State Senator Donna Mercado Kim announced today that her campaign has earned the endorsement of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 50. The announcement was made at the union’s hall at 2240 Young St. in Honolulu, among union leadership, members and retirees.

“Our members trust that Donna’s breadth of experience fighting for working people make her an effective champion for working families in Congress. We need a representative that will make advocating for our members’ rights their top priority,”
said Ryden Valmoja, District Council 50 Business Manager.

“I am honored and grateful to accept the endorsement of District Council 50 and the over 2,000 hard-working men and women they represent. I have spent my career fighting for workers and working families. As a member of Congress, I will continue to be the warrior for Hawai’i’s workers; advocating for living wages and working to create a brighter future for their families," said Kim.

Kim has dedicated her life to public service, first as a member of the State House of Representatives, then Honolulu City Council and as a leader in the State Senate. She has a record of delivering for her constituents and will take her experience to DC to protect Social Security and Medicare, fight to increase the minimum wage and improve our public schools.
